Stonewall is the largest LGBT rights organisation in Europe and was formed in 1989 by political activists and others lobbying against Section 28. Its founders include Sir Ian McKellen, Lisa Power MBE and Lord Cashman CBE.

Mermaids is a British charity and advocacy organisation that supports gender variant and transgender youth. Mermaids was founded in 1995 by a group of parents of gender nonconforming children.

Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led charity working across the UK, established in 2008. They work with the trans community and those who impact on trans lives; they particularly specialise in supporting young trans people aged 8–25.

Albert Kennedy Trust (atk) is a voluntary organisation based in England, created in 1989 to serve LGBT young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment.

TransgenderNI is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of trans people across Northern Ireland. They focus on legal reform, strategic policy, community resources and creating lasting change.

QueerCare is a transfeminist autonomous care organisation, providing training, support and advocacy for trans and queer people in the UK (and further afield).

Gender Identity Research & Education Society (GIRES) is a UK wide organisation whose purpose is to improve the lives of trans and gender non-conforming people of all ages, including those who are non-binary and non-gender.

LGBT Foundation, established in 1975, exists to support the needs of the diverse range of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans. They are a nationally significant charity firmly rooted in the local communities of Greater Manchester and provide a wide range of evidence-based and cost effective services.

CliniQ aims to offer a queer inclusive and non-judgemental holistic well-being and sexual health service to trans clients, members of the trans community, their friends and families.

Switchboard was founded on March 4th 1974. Their information and support helpline operates for five hours every evening in a small room above a bookshop near Kings Cross Station.

Trans Media Watch is a charity that aims to improve media coverage of trans and intersex issues. It is run by volunteers and depends on ordinary trans and intersex people to be its eyes and ears. It aims to reflect the concerns of those people and of the community as a whole.

Action For Trans Health seeks to improve trans people’s access to healthcare.
